Winner of an invited competition, the lower horizontal section of the installation includes the required 250 names of donors to the new building.

SEATTLE GARDEN
1988

A 334-foot long fence and gate surrounding a Seattle City Light Power Substation.  Welded, galvanized and painted steel.  The winner in a Seattle Arts Commission competition to create a sculpture that would be attached to a pre-existing concrete wall, "beautify the neighborhood and be an effective security barrier".

F. W. OLIN Graduate School of Business, Babson College, Wellesley, MA
I was commissioned to design the outdoor plaza for the new building. The many granite shapes of varying heights and sizes are used for informal classes, meetings, snacks…The Information Center in the lobby (18' long) echoes the exterior forms.

GARDEN OF DELIGHTS
1980

Commissioned by A.R.E.A. for a site on Wards Island, New York, now in the Collection of the  University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  140’L x 71/2’H.  Welded and Painted Steel. An undulating line of  steel "flower" forms, in proportion to the surrounding buildings, this installation has been used as a site for student dance concerts, and a meeting place for brown-bag lunches.

IN THE BEGINNING
1992

10’H x 6’W x 4’D.
Welded and Painted Steel, frosted glass, lightbulbs.
Commissioned for the silo-like entry of a private residence in Des Moines, this sculpture is bolted to the ceiling and glows through its frosted glass sections.  The incandesant bulbs can be seen as welcoming ‘fingers’ from the driveway through the clerestory windows.

8'H x 4'W x 24'D.
Welded and Painted Steel.
Commissioned by Jane Alexander and Ed Sherin for the exterior of their home. Cantilevered out from the south-facing wall, creating moving shadows.
